An Evening With American Idol

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:10 PM PDT

On Monday, March 14, American Idol was the featured show at the 28th Annual William S. Paley Television Festival. Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson, Executive Producer Ken Warwick, FOX’s President of Alternative Entertainment Mike Darnell, and nine of the Season 10 finalists were panelists as Entertainment Weekly‘s Dave Karger served as the moderator. Although Lauren Alaina, Thia Megia, and Scotty McCreery were unable to attend because they had to go to Idol school, here are some of the highlights from the evening.

Where do ‘Stevenisms’ Come From?
Moderator Dave brought up his favorite Steven Tyler comment, “After Monday and Tuesday even a week says WTF.” How did Steven reply? “That’s just sauted in wrong sauce!” The Season 10 judge went on to explain that as a songwriter, he always collects bits and pieces of phrases. Adam Lambert’s "Aftermath" and The Trevor Project

Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:10 PM PDT

On Thursday’s Top 13 results show, Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert performed an acoustic version of his song, “Aftermath.” When he was done performing, Adam caught up with Ryan Seacrest and mentioned that proceeds from the “Aftermath” (Remix by Billboard) track will be donated to The Trevor Project.

The Trevor Project helps prevent suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. On Adam’s official website he says that the song “was written about finding the courage to be honest with yourself and the people who love you. It’s about facing adversity and taking risks in the name of personal liberation. The song takes on different meanings to different listeners. I hope this song inspires people to be who they truly want to be…and dance!”

Adam’s “Aftermath” (Remix by Billboard) is now exclusively available on Adam’s Official Site. Portions of the profits will be donated to The Trevor Project plus you can get 10% off your next purchase at Adam’s store.

After his Season 10 results show performance, Adam spoke with us about “Aftermath” and The Trevor Project. Watch this video to find out more from Adam:
