Happy Birthday, Katie Stevens! Posted: 09 Dec 2010 04:04 PM PST Season 9′s Katie Stevens is growing up before our eyes. The Middlebury, CT native was just 16 when she auditioned for American Idol in Boston, and today she turns 18! She is celebrating her birthday in Portugal where some of her family members live, and she announced via Twitter that she will be performing on Portugal Idol. With an amazing first audition of “At Last” by Etta James, Katie instantly won over many viewers. Each week, the high school student performed with the maturity of a singer twice her age. With solid performances of songs like “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Wild Horses,” and “Let It Be,” Katie made it to eighth place in the competition. Due to her Top 10 standing, Katie spent the summer traveling the country with the American Idols LIVE! 2010 Tour. Brooke White and Randy Jackson’s TV Movie Posted: 09 Dec 2010 04:04 PM PST Season 7 finalist Brooke White stars in a made-for-TV family movie, “Change of Plans,” with Joe Flanigan and Phylicia Rashad. The film will air on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 8/7c on FOX. “Change of Plans” demonstrates how our lives can be turned upside down with a single phone call. Brooke plays Sally Danville, who finds out that her best friend from college died in a tragic accident while serving in the Peace Corps. Sally also learns that she has been named the legal guardian of her friend’s four children – three of whom were adopted from third-world countries. Now Sally and her husband, Jason, must quickly learn to parent this instant family and help the kids deal with culture clashes and life in America. The story is both humorous and heartwarming, revealing how fulfilling life can be when you look beyond your own plans and invest in the lives of others. After a successful run in season seven of American Idol, Brooke makes her acting debut and performs songs throughout the movie.
