The Latest News on the Top 2 from Seasons 7 & 8 Posted: 03 Nov 2009 12:11 AM PST American Idols Season 7 and 8 Top 2 finalists have been in go mode since their finales, and this week is no exception. Season 7 winner David Cook has been touring around the country and performing songs off his self-titled album for the past year. This week, on Friday, November 6, David travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma to perform. David, a former Tulsa bartender, will perform at the FireLake Grand Events Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The Missouri native played a sold-out homecoming show at the historic Cains Ballroom in Tulsa this past June. This isnt the only concert David is playing this week; check out the Weekly Idol Scoop for more Cook concerts. Christmas came early for Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta. His latest album, Christmas From the Heart, debuted at No. 30 on the Billboard 200 and opened at No. 2 on Billboards Holiday Albums chart. The reigning American Idol, Kris Allen, released the list of tracks off his upcoming self-titled album, which will drop on November 17. Kris Allen has writing credits on 9 of these songs. Daughtry Uses Fame to Support Charities Posted: 03 Nov 2009 12:11 AM PST As the holiday season approaches, American Idol Season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry and his band, Daughtry, are using their popularity for good. On November 26, Daughtry will perform live at the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Oakland Raiders. This performance will officially kick off The Salvation Armys 2009 Red Kettle Christmas campaign, which is the oldest annual charitable fundraiser of its kind in the United States. Through December 24, the campaign will raise money for people all over in need, providing toys, coats, food, and countless social service programs throughout the year. Daughtry will perform a medley of hits from their chart-topping sophomore album, Leave This Town. They will also perform songs off their multi-platinum debut album, Daughtry. “Thanksgiving is a time for great traditions, like watching the Cowboys’ game, giving thanks for the blessings in your life and remembering those less fortunate,” says Chris. “This year, the band will perform at the game during halftime and encourage people to generously support The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, a fantastic charity that has a real impact on peoples’ lives.” Previous halftime performers include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and many more popular recording artists. Posted: 03 Nov 2009 12:11 AM PST Season 4s American Idol runner-up, Bo Bice, has released two albums and has performed all over the world since his time on the show. Most recently, Bo sang on the soundtrack for the new movie Noble Things. The movie is infused with country music and the soundtrack includes songs from some of the most popular country artists. This isnt the first time Bo contributed his voice to a film. In 2007, Bo sang the theme song for the comedy Blades of Glory. Bo is busy these days. This month, hell be performing in Kentucky, Arkansas, New York, and Mississippi. All of this touring will be a good way to pass the time as he awaits the arrival of his third child, due this January, with wife Caroline. Pink and pop hit-maker Max Martin joined forced on a number called "Whataya Want From Me," Kara DioGuardi co-wrote the track "Strut," and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder worked with Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsay on "Sleepwalker." Though it's not listed here, RollingStone.com also reveals that the much-talked-about Lady Gaga-penned song is in fact No. 9 "Fever." "Time for Miracles," released as the official single from the coming film "2012," will turn up here as a bonus track. Here's the list, with titles, lengths and writing credits: 1.
