Kellie Pickler is a Married Woman

Season 5 American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler and songwriter Kyle Jacobs were married in an intimate ceremony on Saturday, January 1, 2011 on a private island in the Caribbean. No further details or photos are available at this time, but we should have more information soon.

Just days before the wedding, Kellie tweeted a picture of her and Kyle and wrote, “Crazy about this man.” The couple got engaged on June 15th in Florida, on her late grandmother Faye’s birthday. Kellie and Kyle have been together for over 3 years.

The country sweetheart spent her summer on tour with the Rascal Flatts. Kellie recently performed on the CMA Country Christmas and received two nominations at the inaugural American Country Awards.

Idol Alumni Perform at Barefoot Formal

Over 400 guests experienced a truly special New Year’s Eve party at the star-studded Barefoot Formal, which was held on the sand at the beautiful Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa. The evening showcased a never-before-seen pairing of stars from American Idol joined by a special guest from “Latin Idol.” The night concluded with a spectacular display of fireworks at midnight over the Sea of Cortez.

American Idol Associate Music Director Michael Orland accompanied Idol finalists Melinda Doolittle, Rickey Smith, and Michael Johns, as well as “Latin Idol” finalist Samantha Rae, who performed at the event. According to Casa Dorada’s General Manager Victor Gomez, “It was an exceptional night of music, entertainment and fireworks. Everyone had a wonderful time!”

Rickey and Michael J. joined “So You Think You Can Dance” Choreographer Louis Van Amstel and led a conga line of 80 guests around Medano Beach and each performer hit the stage to sing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” to close out the party, which ended at 3:00am.

Carrie Underwood’s Tour Plays On for One Million Fans in North America

American Idol’s fourth winner, Carrie Underwood, wrapped her 2010 headline arena tour, the “Play On Tour,” Thursday night in Connecticut after performing 108 shows across the U.S. and Canada, and with one million fans attending since its launch last March. Carrie was the top-ranked female country touring artist of 2010, as she was in 2008. Special guests over the course of the tour this past year included Craig Morgan, Billy Currington, and Sons of Sylvia.

The “Play On Tour,” under the direction of Raj Kapoor, brought in renowned set designer Michael Cotten, best known as Michael Jackson’s production designer for “This Is It,” as well as Emmy Award winning costume designer, Soyon An, who created one-of-a-kind costumes for Carrie.

Carrie’s “Play On Tour” production utilized a massive stage production with state-of-the-art lighting and high-tech video. The tour carried 80 personnel on the road, traveling over 35,000 miles in 13 trucks and 8 buses. The tour is currently nominated for a Pollstar Concert Industry Award (Feb. 5) for “Most Creative Stage Production.”

Throughout the tour, fans and critics raved about Carrie’s masterful vocals and the impressive production level of the tour.
