Tammy One Tells Ron She’s Here to Help on ‘Parks & Recreation’ Premiere (VIDEO)

'Parks & Recreation' - 'I'm Leslie Knope'While it took all episode to get there, we finally got the much-anticipated encounter between Ron and Tammy 1 (Patricia Clarkson) on the season premiere of ‘Parks & Recreation’ (Thu., 8:30PM ET on NBC). It was certainly worth the wait, as it sets up what’s sure to be an interesting storyline.

Ron Swanson is being audited. Tammy 1 gave him an envelope with IRS on it, but does that mean she was serving him the papers, or providing him the help she said she was there to give? Is she an IRS agent, or did Ron mean something else when he said she ruins lives?

We’ll have to wait to find out those answers, but what we don’t have to wait for is to see Leslie transition from the most dedicated public servant to the most dedicated candidate in a political campaign. With Andy just hired on as her new assistant, to help around the Parks Department during her campaign, we see a recipe for disaster — and hilarity.

Rugby Coach Puts a New Spin on a Classic Song on ‘The X Factor’ (VIDEO)

Caitlin Koch, 'The X Factor'While Simon Cowell is surely disappointed with ‘The X Factor’ (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX) not coming out and dominating the night the way ‘American Idol’ does every year, it was still a solid premiere for the network, and there’s always room to grow.

He’s going to do that by showing us amazing singers and amazing stories, like rugby coach and player Caitlin Koch in this second episode. She put a new twist on ‘Stop! In the Name of Love’ and captures the spirit of what the show could be.

But it spent so long early in the episode getting us to those types of performances that give us goosebumps, that Cowell’s going to lose what audience he did muster up for the premiere. He needs to sprinkle brilliance throughout these early episodes, or we’re going to wonder if they just didn’t find that much talent on the road.

The Angels Learn Just How Dangerous the Job Is on ‘Charlie’s Angels’ (VIDEO)

'Charlie's Angels' series premiereWell, if the creators wanted the fate of Gloria to be any sort of surprise for the viewers of this ‘Charlie’s Angels’ (Thu., 8PM ET on ABC) series premiere, they should have handled things a lot differently in the promotion of the remake.

Imagine the shock we could have had in seeing one of the Angels die in the very first episode. Now that’s exactly what happened, but it was Nadine Velazquez instead of one of the three women we’ve seen everywhere promoting the show.

When the episode began and Minka Kelly wasn’t in the trio of ladies saving the day, we knew Gloria’s days were numbered. But ABC could have had a much bigger reaction if they’d pretended Velazquez was a castmember all along, even giving her lead billing in this premiere rather than seeing her name tacked on as a guest star.

Kirstie Alley on Weight Loss: ‘I Feel Back to Normal’

Posted: 23 Sep 2011 12:56 AM PDT

Actress Kirstie Alley has lost 100 pounds — and she says she’s back on her game.

“When I hit that mark, I went, ‘That’s it!’” she told People.com during her stay in a villa outside Florence, Italy. “I have more energy than I’ve ever had in my whole life.”

Alley, 60, has famously battled weight issues over the last several years, but she said she hit a wall two years ago.

“My body had gotten really weak,” Alley explained, whose weight at that time hovered around 230 lbs. “There was nothing positive about being fat.”

But her turn on “Dancing with the Stars,” along with using her own weight-loss program, Organic Liaison, has brought Alley down to a size 6. “I feel back to normal. I have my game again.”

Now, she’s ready for love. “What I’m looking for is to be madly, deeply in love. For the first time in my life, I know exactly what I want in a man. I want someone who has my back, who is courageous and brave.”

The former (and formerly) “Fat Actress” is set to star in the upcoming ABC pilot, “The Manzanis.”

Jaycee Dugard Sues U.S. Government

Posted: 23 Sep 2011 12:56 AM PDT

Kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard is taking legal action against the U.S. government in a lawsuit, according to People. Dugard claims federal authorities should have been more careful in monitoring her kidnapper, convicted rapist Phillip Garrido.

jaycee-dugard-a.jpg

Parole agents were supposed to be supervising Garrido, who was on parole at his home in Antioch, Calif. from 1991 to 1999. During that time, agents failed to detect Jaycee in the home. Garrido, who fathered two of Jaycee’s children, abducted Dugard in 1991, holding her captive for 18 years.

According to the lawsuit, the agents’ oversight was “outrageous and inexcusable as they are numerous.”

Jaycee Says Giving Birth Gave Her Hope

Jaycee is suing the government for an undisclosed amount and says she will donate 100 percent of any money she receives to the nonprofit organization she founded, The JAYC Foundation, Inc., which helps kidnap victims and their families.

Dugard, 31, has already sued the state of California and was approved for a $20-million settlement through a state victim’s compensation fund.

Garrido and his wife Nancy pled guilty. They are both serving life sentences.

The Voice (and Former TRL) Host Carson Daly: The Founding Father of Social TV?

Posted: 23 Sep 2011 12:56 AM PDT

Laugh if you want, but Carson Daly may have started the social TV movement way back in 1998 with MTV’s interactive call-in countdown show Total Request Live. TRL and The Voice may feel miles apart on the music-show spectrum, but they’ve both contributed to the socialization of TV. We talked to Daly about his role in shaping TRL, adapting the Dutch formula for The Voice and the role of quality in social success…
