Anthony Fedorov Signs to Airgo Music Posted: 19 Feb 2011 04:48 PM PST Airgo Music is pleased to announce the addition of Season 4 American Idol finalist and singer-songwriter Anthony Fedorov to its growing roster of artists. Currently in the studio with Airgo CEO and producer Jimmy Greco (Santana, Celine Dion, Beyonce) and co-producer Russ DeSalvo (Marc Anthony, Santana, Celine Dion) Anthony is preparing new material to be featured on his upcoming EP. Entitled Never Over, the EP’s release will coincide with a series of dates in Tokyo, Japan in which Anthony will be reprising his role as Joseph in the touring production of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Information regarding Never Over’s lead-off single accompanied by a full track-listing will be made available later this month. Never Over marks the next natural step in Anthony’s maturation as an artist. Fans can expect songwriting that reflects the journey he has been on since leaving Idol as well as his hopes and dreams for the future. In a recent interview with IdolsNow Anthony stated, “It’s been six years in the making and I’m very excited about this project. I’ve been writing songs and I can’t wait for everyone to hear my new music.” Greco and his team are thrilled to be on board for a collaboration that will introduce Anthony Fedorov’s music to an even wider audience and give fans who have supported him since Idol a chance to reconnect with his powerful brand of songwriting. Posted: 19 Feb 2011 04:48 PM PST For the first time in American Idol history, the contestants who survived Hollywood Week are off to Las Vegas, Nevada. The final sixty contestants got a rare opportunity in Vegas-they got to perform on the set of Cirque du Soleil’s “The Beatles LOVE.” At the end of the last episode of American Idol, we saw scenes for Vegas Week, with the contestants rising up on stage amidst smoke. The set looks gorgeous, and it appears that contestants will be singing in duos or trios. Here is what Ryan Seacrest shared during the episode preview, “With such a deep talent pool, the judges need to up the ante, and a new challenge is born. Next week, the contestants face their toughest and most demanding stage yet as our remaining competitors take on The Beatles. They only have 24 hours to learn their songs with one chance to make it count. More dynamite performances as the contestants soar to new heights, but cuts will be made, as next week we get down to your Top 24.” On a press call this week, Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe said, “On the Vegas show, you will see production that you haven’t previously seen before.” While you wait for Wednesday’s Vegas show (8/7c on FOX), scope out the remaining talent. |
Happy Birthday, Chris Richardson! Posted: 19 Feb 2011 04:48 PM PST Season 6 finalist Chris Richardson celebrates his 27th birthday today. While Chris was a contestant on American Idol, he soared through the semifinals and into the finals. He did a good job of picking songs that suited his modern pop-rock vocals. It wasn’t until American Idol’s seventh season when contestants could start playing musical instruments, so Chris was unable to showcase his talent on the piano, guitar, and drums during his season. Chris spent the summer after Season 6 touring around the country with his fellow Top 10 finalists. In early 2008, Chris released a single called “All Alone” that became available for download. During the Season 6 competition, he became close friends with runner-up Blake Lewis, and he even co-wrote a couple tracks, “What’cha Got 2 Lose?” and “Human,” on Blake’s debut album, Audio Day Dream. He also co-wrote a track on Season 8 finalist Anoop Desai‘s debut, All Is Fair. These days, Chris has been playing gigs in and around his hometown and is working on his music. Happy Birthday, Chris!
