Kelly Clarkson Tops the Country Charts Posted: 15 Feb 2011 04:45 PM PST The American Idol alumni with the most Billboard No. 1s, Kelly Clarkson, received her 57th chart topper this week with “Don’t You Wanna Stay”-a duet with Jason Aldean. The song topped the Country Digital Songs chart. Jason and Kelly performed the duet at the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards on November 10, 2010. Fantasia Brings Home a Grammy Award Posted: 15 Feb 2011 04:45 PM PST Congratulations to American Idol’s third winner, Fantasia, for winning the Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “Bittersweet” off of her latest album, Back To Me. The 53rd Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. The 2011 Grammy Awards show opened with a special tribute to Aretha Franklin that included a performance starring Season 3′s Jennifer Hudson along with Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch, Martina McBride, and Yolanda Adams. The performance started with a group rendition of “Natural Woman.” Then, each artist performed an Aretha hit, and Jennifer gave a beautiful rendition of “Respect” that got the crowd up on their feet. The svelte singer also dazzled on the red carpet. Idol judge Jennifer Lopez presented the award for Record of the Year with her husband, Marc Anthony. Season 6 champ Jordin Sparks walked the red carpet in a gorgeous red dress and Season 9′s Crystal Bowersox looked radiant in an asymmetrical emerald gown.
