The third American Idol, Fantasia, turns 26 today. She was only 19 years old when she won the title of American Idol, making her the youngest contestant until Jordin Sparks won Season 6 at age 17. Since taking the crown in 2004, Fantasia has released two albums, shes starred on Broadway, had her own television docu-series, and received eight Grammy nominations. This year is already shaping up to be a big one for Fantasia.

On August 10th, Fantasias third album, Back To Me, will hit shelves everywhere. The new album is an emotionally charged record which features the single, Bittersweet, which Fantasia performed on the Season 9 Top 4 results show. The single is available now, and the music video for Bittersweet was recently released. With a 1920s vibe, the video features Fantasia in a backstage dressing room reflecting over a bittersweet love affair as she prepares to perform in front of an awaiting audience. Entertainment Weekly called it the best video of her career because of her classy looks and acting chops.

The High Point, North Carolina native released her platinum-selling debut album, Free Yourself, on J Records and became the first artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart to debut at #1 with her first single, I Believe.
