| Carrie Underwood at the Super Bowl: You be the judge Posted: 08 Feb 2010 09:52 AM PST No doubt Season 4's American Idol Carrie Underwood looked amazing as she delivered the national anthem on Super Bowl Sunday, rocking an all-white ensemble accented by an adorable Rock & Republic jacket. But judging by talk on the Twitterverse as she belted those tricky notes, it seems many viewers thought Carrie's vocals didn't score high marks like her fashion. As we detailed on Saturday ("Idols at the Super Bowl"), she's had her share of practice when it comes to this challenging two-minute piece (sans accompaniment), but did Carrie stumble in this performance by hitting not one but several bum notes? Having covered the Super Bowl halftime show before, we're sympathetic. The stadium is ginormous, the rustle of the crowd is deafening, and anyone would have trouble hearing himself or herself even with the best in-ear monitors, which both Carrie and the Who undoubtedly had.
