Happy Birthday, Luke Menard!

Posted: 03 Dec 2009 05:05 PM PST

Season 7 contestant Luke Menard celebrated his birthday on December 1st. Luke has a lot to be grateful for, as the 31-year-old is now cancer free. Immediately after Luke was eliminated from American Idol, he learned that he was stricken with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Not one to let cancer stop him, Luke continued to travel and sing while undergoing treatment. Luke blogged about his experience and has done many interviews on TV and in the news about battling the disease. His Idol friends helped him out while he was ill; they visited him in the hospital and even auctioned off an autographed guitar to help pay his medical bills. Now, a healthy Luke is touring around the world with his a cappella group Chapter 6.

Happy Birthday, Luke!

Luke put together a photo gallery of his journey last year and shared it with AmericanIdol.com. View the photos.
