The $99 Netbook From Cherrypal Africa?

Posted: 17 Dec 2009 09:48 PM PST

Is there really a mini laptop at a price less than $ 100? But this is a fact, now Cherrypal has launched a laptop for just $99 called Cherrypal Africa, a ‘mini-notebook’ designed to provide convenient Internet access for users who never knew the Internet. There is a written statement from the blog cherypal.com/greenopenfair about why this product made, “We decided to build a mini-laptop for those who do not have a lot of money.” This device with a price of $99 is named Africa in order to respect PAAJAF, a group Human services in Ghana, West Africa.

For some specifications, Cherrypal Africa mini laptop has 7-inch display, 400MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and 2GB flash memory, as well as Windows CE operating system or Linux. This netbook will be present in the Cherrypal retail online (cherrypal.com/shop.php) in the near future. Indeed, this mini laptop is a low-end device but can be relied upon for the future, especially in less developed areas with Internet access.

As information again, this is not the first time Cherrypal launch a cheaply netbook. In July 2008, they have launched low-cost laptops Impulse NPX-9000 with price about $140, but unfortunately only for buyers who purchase 100 units or more.
