Intel Prepares New Processor 48 Core and i9

Posted: 06 Dec 2009 11:32 AM PST

Intel will prepare their new 48 core technology processor which intended to support the performance and efficiency of power for laptops, servers and desktops in the future. Every core shown by Intel, on yesterday, Wednesday (2 / 12) at the headquarters of Santa Clara, California, completely full programmed and can share data in a network of high-speed chip. This Intel’s new discovery can save energy by 25 watts and 125 watts at most when the chips run with full performance.

Researchers from the Intel processor naming them as ’single-chip computer cloud’, because the design which represents the organization’s data center is used for cloud-computing environments that offer data storage services on the web. Cloud data centers or equal to 10 thousand computers are physically connected to the network cable to distribute tasks and data that many in parallel. 48-core processor chip was built using 45 nanometer manufacturing process.

While high-speed networks that connected with the chip could speed up the software to send information between the cores in some micro seconds, reducing delays in data access through memory chip. The application can also dynamically adjust core which will be given a task, matching the performance and energy / power needed to complete the task.

Intel believes that with many-cores, can increase performance. Intel also plans to release an Intel 6-Core Xeon Westmere Gulftown ES 2.4GHz LGA1366 in 2010 or also known as the i9 Core Gulftown via eBay, which was built with a 32nm process and with Westmere micro architecture-based.
