Carrie Underwood’s Country Hit

Posted: 22 Sep 2009 03:22 PM PDT

Season 4 Idol winner Carrie Underwood’s hot new single, “Cowboy Casanova,” is not only the fastest climbing country single of her career, but it’s also the fastest rising hit of the year at country radio. The song soared to #11 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart only one week after its official airplay impact date of September 14. It’s the first single from Carrie’s anxiously awaited third album, Play On, which releases November 3, but fans can own “Cowboy Casanova” now with today’s release of the digital single. Carrie’s digital singles have consistently been fan favorites, with nine singles from her Carnival Ride and Some Hearts albums certified Gold, Platinum, or multi-Platinum.

In a review of Cowboy Casanova in the September 19 issue, Billboard noted that country radio Program Directors “have been anxious to get their hands on new Carrie Underwood music, and the magazine was right on track, with 100% of their Nielsen BDS country chart reporting stations already spinning Cowboy Casanova only a week after impact date. The immediate response is a testament both to Carrie and to an incredible song, as Billboard lauded, Underwood shines on this steamy upbeat number, which she penned with Brett James and Mike Elizondo. Mark Brights production is taut and packs a punch in all the right places.

A four-time GRAMMY Award winner, ACM Entertainer of the Year, and reigning, three-time CMA and ACM Female Vocalist winner, Carrie is continuing work on Play On teamed with Mark Bright, who produced her Carnival Ride collection as well as seven tracks from <… read more

Bucky is excited to return to his hometown of Rockingham, North Carolina to play a concert for the first time in Rockingham since he appeared on American Idol. “I played in the Rockingham area for 10 years,” Bucky said. “When I went back home after American Idol, it was an awesome feeling, but I hadn’t felt like I had accomplished what I wanted yet. I got straight to work and released my first album, music video, and I even had three top 10 hits.” One of the things Bucky is most looking forward to is seeing his friends and family. “When I perform, I can normally only see the first five rows due to the bright lights, but I rarely know anyone in the first five rows. I can’t wait to look out into the first few rows in Rockingham and see people I know. It will be distracting, but it will be great. My twin Rocky is in the band with us on back-up vocals and percussion, and I can’t wait to show him off. My best friend is also in the band and I look forward to showing him off too. These are very exciting times, and we’re filming the hometown concert too, which is a plus.”

Rockingham concert attendees are encourage to bring a non-perishable food item donation to the free concert to benefit the Backpack Pals outreach program. Bucky calls Backpack Pals “a … read more
