Phil Stacey Releases New Album Posted: 29 Aug 2009 01:24 AM PDT Season 6 finalist Phil Stacey has released his second album, Into the Light, today. The CD has been releasedunder the Reunion Records label. Phil wrote five of the songs on Into the Light. On his official website, Phil said, “If you put all of my musical history in a blender, this is what comes out.” In April of 2008, Phil released his self-titled debut album with Lyric Street Records. The CD included the song “If You Didn’t Love Me,” which found it’s way to #28 on the US Country charts. The first single off Into the Light is called “Inside Out.” From now through February, Phil will be busy touring across the country and performing at churchs, schools, cruise ships, and more. Posted: 29 Aug 2009 01:24 AM PDT Season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee has released a new single today. The song, “Had It All,” is off Katharine’s second album, Unbroken. To listen to the single in its entirety, and to watch two exclusive behind-the-scenes making of Unbroken webisodes, head to Katharine McPhee’s official MySpace page. Unbroken is scheduled for release on October 6th. Although Kat has always been a brunette, she chopped off her signature locks and dyed them blonde to achieve an edgier look for the cover of Unbroken. The new record will be released under Verve Forecast Records, and she is working with producer John Alagia. Katharine’s self-titled debut albumpremiered at #2 on the Billboard Top 200. The album’s first single, “Over It,” went Gold in 2008. Kat may have transformed from a brunette to a blonde recently, but check out her transformation on American Idol, here. |
Carrie Underwood will Co-host the CMAs with Brad Paisley Again Posted: 29 Aug 2009 01:24 AM PDT American Idol’s Season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood, will co-host the Country Music Association Awards with Brad Paisley for the second year in a row. Carrie and Brad, the 2-time reigning male and female Vocalists of the Year, are excited to cohost the 43rd Annual Country Music Association Awards on November 11. Last year, both hosts took home big awards and they each performedon the show. On Tuesday, the Country Music Associationsaid that “both singers possess the humor and timing needed to host the three-hour show.” Carrie toured with Brad in 2006, and even recorded the duet “Oh Love” for Paisley’s album, 5th Gear. As members of the Grand Ole Opry, Carrie and Brad performed on the American Idol Season 8 Grand Ole Opry results show. During that show, Brad debuted his new single, “Then.” Carrie teamed up with Randy Travis for a duet of “I Told You So.” Read more about Carrie and Brad’s Season 8 performances, here. Carrie is a five-time winner at the CMAs, including the Horizon Award (now called New Artist award) she picked up in 2006. On November 3rd, just a week before the 2009 CMA Awards, Carrie’s new album will drop. In an interview with People Magazine, Carrie talked about hosting with Brad said, “I thought we did a good job. I wasn’t nervous about being asked back. But I was hoping they would ask us.” |
Kristin Chenoweth to Guest Judge on American Idol Posted: 29 Aug 2009 01:24 AM PDT Tony Award winner and Emmy nominee Kristin Chenoweth will be the guest judge sitting at the judges’ table in Orlando, Florida with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi. Kristin is no stranger to singing. With a background as a classically trained soprano, Kristin went on to star on Broadway in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Wicked among other plays. In addition, Kristin has appeared in a number of movies and TV shows, and even released three albums. This fall, she will be a guest star on Fox’s new TV show, GLEE. Sanjaya Malakar to Perform at BB King Blues Club & Grill Posted: 29 Aug 2009 01:24 AM PDT Season 6 finalist Sanjaya Malakar will celebrate his 20th birthday by performing at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in New York City. The event will take place at 8:00PM on September 9, 2009. At the event, Sanjaya will be performing several of his favorite covers as well as some of his original songs. He will be joined by his sister Shyamali, who auditioned with Sanjaya for Season 6 of American Idol. A New York City rock band called the Peaceniks will open for Sanjaya and will also back him up on stage. In January 2009, Sanjaya released a five song EP called “Dancing to the Music in my Head.” He is currently working on a full album. Sanjaya opened up about his Idol experience in his post-elimination interview. Check it out! |
Kristin Chenoweth next to guest judge on ‘Idol’ Posted: 29 Aug 2009 01:24 AM PDT Tony winner, Emmy nominee and recording artist Kristin Chenoweth can now add "American Idol" guest judge to her resume, People magazine reports. The "Pushing Daisies" star will join the judges table in Orlando later this week. The most recent star to take over Paula Abdul's spot was Neil Patrick Harris, who sat in on the Tuesday auditions in Dallas.
