Back in 2007 The Sopranos ended on HBO. Ever since the networks and cable channels have tried pretty hard to make the next Sopranos. That brings us to the FX’s Sons of Anarchy. While I have never seen a Sopranos episode (yes I know, shame on me), I have a feeling that Sons of Anarchy is as close as television has gotten to replicating the Sopranos. While I am not saying that it is as good as The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy is not a bad series.

America’s Got Talent Quarterfinals Show #7 (August 25th, 2009)

americasgottalent Americas Got Talent Quarterfinals Show #7 (August 25th, 2009)

Well the quarterfinal auditions are over. Just like most of the previous season, it appears that this year will once again be the year of singers. There has essentially not been a non singing winner yet. Terry Fator was a ventriloquist but also a singer. This year there are four singers in this competition that I think will be very hard to beat; Kevin Skinner, Barbara Padilla, The Voices of Glory, and Lawrence Beaman. At this point I would be surprised if one of them didn’t win the competition. I personally would vote for Acrodunk but I already know they have next to no chance at winning.

Along with the singing acts are the dancing acts. This year there are a lot of dancing acts that have made the next round. Like usual the variety/anything but singing or dancing acts are once again not well represented. I honestly don’t know how it is so hard for the judges to find truly unique acts. There are hundreds of talents and yet they can only find a couple each season that deserve to be shown off to America. I find that hard to believe.

As far as this week it was a pretty solid episode. There were quite a few acts that I enjoyed but I don’t think have much chance of making the next round. After the break check out my thoughts on tonight’s performances.
