Exclusive Interview with Siobhan Magnus

Posted: 07 Aug 2010 06:43 PM PDT

Season 9s Siobhan Magnus is currently touring the nation with the Top 10 Idols on the American Idols LIVE! 2010 Tour. We caught up with the 20-year-old to find out about life on the road, meeting her fans, and the future.

The Cape Cod, Massachusetts native has a big family, and theyve been able to come out and watch Siobhan on tour a few different times. They came to the Manfield show. I have a great-aunt and she was my first real groupie. Coming out to the shows was something for her to get excited about, and she brought along her 89-year-old mother-in-law. Im really excited for the Portland show because my oldest brother will be there.

MyIdol user Chili1000 was wondering if there was anything about touring that surprised Siobhan. She answered, We didnt know what to expect because none of us has done this before. Everybody is so cool its a whole new crew than the one on the show. It was scary at first to meet them all, but theyre really great and it makes it that much more fun to like the people you are with every day.

As you know from watching Siobhan on Season 9 of American Idol, she can hit the most unbelievable notes. How does she keep her vocal chords from getting tired after performing all-out night after night? I warm up before and warm down after. We drink lots of ginger and lemon tea and use throat sprays. You end up learning tricks with salt … read more

Nigel Lythgoe Returns to American Idol as Executive Producer

Posted: 06 Aug 2010 11:43 AM PDT

Nigel Lythgoe will return as an executive producer of American Idol, televisions No. 1 series. Lythgoe joins executive producers Simon Fuller, Cecile Frot-Coutaz and Ken Warwick for the milestone 10th anniversary season of American Idol, premiering January 2011 on FOX.

Since we launched the original Pop Idol in England, Ive remained close with Simon Fuller. Working as executive producer on American Idol for its first seven years not only was an inspirational journey into the heart of American pop culture, it opened my eyes to the untapped potential of the incredibly dynamic young people in this world. I have been able to continue discovering raw talent on So You Think You Can Dance, which I co-created with Simon, said Lythgoe. American Idol became a juggernaut of epic proportions, but to me it was always like home. I am elated and honored to be rejoining childhood friend and fellow executive producer Ken Warwick, and look forward to creating more magic.

I am so happy to be welcoming Nigel back to the Idol family. He is, without a doubt, the most accomplished executive producer I have ever worked with. Nigel helped to define the show I created almost 10 years ago, mentoring our judging panel and nurturing our talent. His unbridled passion has been missed, said American Idol creator and executive producer Simon Fuller. This year, with Idol celebrating our 10th season as the worlds biggest and most powerful TV show, I felt it was an important time to collaborate with Nigel once again to help redefine American Idol and take us through … read more

OnAir OnLine: Bedenk een Format

Posted: 04 Aug 2010 02:11 PM PDT

Exclusive Interview with Casey James

Posted: 03 Aug 2010 09:42 PM PDT

Season 9s third place finalist, Casey James, is currently touring around the country with the American Idols LIVE! 2010 Tour. He took time out of his busy tour schedule to talk about the upcoming Texas shows, performing on no sleep, and what was in that mystery box!

Casey is having a wonderful time on tour. I love everything about it! Obviously the music is what its all about. Getting to meet the people and see new places has been great.

MyIdol member Danna1988 wanted to know which of the tour stops was most interesting and why. Casey said, Once you get into the rhythm of being on tour, its kind of the same thing everyday. Theres no big difference from town to town, except that the people give you a sense of where youre at. We got a day off in Washington D.C. and I got to see the Capitol building, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Arlington National Cemetery, and it was all really cool. I walked 10 miles around D.C. that day.

During Season 9, Casey always put on a mini-rock concert with his performances. PoisonIvyRed wanted to know how Casey manages to have so much energy when hes on stage even though he is getting so little rest. Every single time Im on stage Im energized for my performance. Our last show was in Georgia and I got zero sleep the night before. And the night before … read more
