| Happy Birthday, Kelly Clarkson! Posted: 26 Apr 2011 12:31 AM PDT The very first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, turned 29 on Sunday, April 24. Since winning Season 1, Kelly has released four albums which have sold over 20 million copies. She has received five Grammy nominations, and won two Grammy Awards in 2006. Currently, Kelly has a hit on the charts with “Don’t You Wanna Stay”-a duet with Jason Aldean. The single became Kelly’s 57th Billboard chart-topper, but it was her first number one on Billboard’s Country charts. Kelly and Jason performed the duet on the American Idol stage during the Top 8 results show. The Idol took to her Facebook to say, “I had such a great time on Idol last night. I had fun singing with Jason and I love that every time I go back to Idol the set is even bigger!” View photos of the performance. Kelly holds the record for the American Idol with the most number ones on the Billboard charts at 59! At the end of 2009, Kelly was nominated for Artist of the Decade by Rolling Stone. Danny has come a long way since being a 28-year-old on American Idol. On March 2, 2010, Danny released his debut album, My Best Days. The record was so successful that he achieved the highest first-week album sales by a debut country male in 18 years! Two days after his album debuted, Danny performed “My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me” on the Top 20 American Idol results show. View photos of his performance. Last winter, Danny released “Tennessee Christmas” and he was nominated for Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist at FOX’s inaugural American Country Awards. On the Charts Idol Fantasia‘s “Collard Greens & Cornbread” entered the Urban AC top 40 at #30. She performed the single on a recent Season 10 results show. See pictures of her performance. Season 5′s Mandisa has a hit with “Stronger.” The song moved up a slot on the Christian AC chart, now sitting at #2; she’s also at #13 on the Idol airplay chart.
