Daughtry Does It Again

Chris Daughtrys unstoppable band, Daughtry, has achieved their 36th No. 1 hit on the Billboard charts. No Surprise, the first single off Daughtrys sophomore album Leave This Town, went to No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary Recurrents chart.

With Daughtrys addition to the charts, the American Idol contestants have now accumulated 274 #1s to date:

The New American Idol, Lee DeWyze

Soon after Lee DeWyze won the title of American Idol, he opened up on a press call. The Mount Prospect, Illinois native talked about his new album, meeting other Idols, and more.

Lee never compromised who he was throughout the grueling competition. Whether it is on the show or on camera or off the camera, I stay true to myself, Lee stated. I really wanted my experience on the show to be about me and my performing and my music. I think I can connect with an audience because I know what it’s like to be on the other side of it and I really remember all of that. I know what it’s like to be starting, trying to do something and have a goal and trying to reach itFor me, it’s just about that moment when I was up there and I put my emotions in every song. I connect with every song, as best I can, and the audience.

The winner signed a deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Records, and is beginning to think about his album. Lee said, I’m really looking forward to the new album I’ll be making nowI’m about being as original as I can and to stay true to myself. This experience has given me a platform. Happy Birthday, Randy Jackson!

The dawg, Randy Jackson, celebrates his birthday today. As of Season 10, Randy will be the American Idol judge with the most years of experience hes been on the show every season since the start! Having worked in the music industry for over two decades, Randy has worked with many of the biggest stars around, from Mariah to Whitney and from *NSYNC to Elton John. Randy got his big break when he joined the band Journey, which hes never too shy to talk about on American Idol!

The Grammy Award-winning producer was the Vice President of A&R at Columbia Records and the Senior Vice President of A&R at MCA Records. Randy went back to his producer roots when he collaborated with American Idol alums including Brooke White on her album High Hopes & Heartbreak and with Kimberley Locke on her single Strobe Light.
