| Happy Birthday, Christina Christian! Posted: 22 Jun 2010 06:11 AM PDT Season 1 finalist Christina Christian turns 29 today. The Brooklyn, New York native entered the world of American Idol before anyone knew what the show was about, and she helped make it a sensation. Christina was the first of many Idol finalists to have a moment with Bill Withers Aint No Sunshine. She is probably most remembered for being away from the studio during the live results show when she was eliminated at that time Christina was hospitalized for stress-related illnesses. Christina has appeared on popular shows such as CSI and Burn Notice. In 2004, Christina got married, and in 2006, she had a baby boy. Happy Birthday, Christina!

| Posted: 22 Jun 2010 06:11 AM PDT Soon after Crystal Bowersox became the runner-up on Season 9 of American Idol, she opened up to press on a conference call. The singer talked about her journey on the show, the upcoming tour, and her future. The Elliston, Ohio native got to perform with Alanis Morissette on the Season 9 finale. I thought Alanis was amazing, Crystal shared. She has a kind, gentle spirit. We didnt talk very much. It was more like quick hellos and hugs. It was very genuine, and then, performing was really where we communicated. Crystal would love to collaborate with Alanis and other artists in the future too. I definitely have love and respect for Melissa Etheridge. Alanis was great. Joe Cocker was one of the highlights of my life. Im a big fan of Ray LaMontagne. I like Leslie Feist. Theres a lot of music that I personally love and enjoy. The craziest thing is that its all possible now to work with these people. I can say it, and it can be true. Just as her list of desired collaborations is diverse, so is her style of music. Ive got songs in a lot of different genres and styles. I dont feel like I should be pigeon-holed into any one thing. Hes only been around for a quarter of a century, but Kris has lived a lot of life over the past two years. Since the husband from Conway, Arkansas became the 2009 American Idol, hes traveled the nation on tour with the Season 8 Top 10, released an album, volunteered with Idol Gives Back in Haiti, toured the country to promote his self-titled album, and scored three No. 1s on the Billboard charts. How will Kris celebrate his 25th birthday? By playing music, of course! He will be performing at Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, NM tonight. Later this week hes off to Rialto Theatre in Tucson, Yankee Stadium, and Northern California. In July and early August, Kris will hit the road with the Barenaked Ladies, and then from mid to late August hell be on tour with Maroon 5. View the tour dates and locations. Kris fans showed their appreciation for the birthday boy by raising over $25,000 for the Heifer International charity, a non-profit organization whose goal is to help end world hunger and poverty through self-reliance and sustainability. Kris Allen was a college student from Conway, AR. David Cook tended bar in Blue Springs, MO. Chris Daughtry was a service advisor at a car dealership in Greensboro, NC. Carrie Underwood lived on a farm in Checotah, OK. Jennifer Hudson was a cruise ship performer from Chicago, IL. Kelly Clarkson was a waitress from Dallas, TX. One audition changed the rest of their lives. | Crystal Bowersox Signs with 19/Jive Posted: 22 Jun 2010 06:11 AM PDT American Idols Season 9 runner-up, Crystal Bowersox, has signed to 19 Recordings/Jive Records. Crystal is currently gearing up for the upcoming American Idol tour which kicks off July 1st at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit. The talented 24-year old singer/songwriter is expected to release her debut album later this year. Crystal, who hails from Ohio, began playing music at ten years old. Her bluesy, folk rock sound, which was influenced by the likes of Melissa Etheridge and Janis Joplin, made her a favorite early in the competition. It was the inspiration she gained from her one-year old son, who she credits for her success on the show. Im really grateful to be given this opportunity to make an album and let people hear my music, Crystal says, and Im looking forward to working with all of the folks at 19/ Jive.
