Exclusive Interview with Adam Lambert

Posted: 10 Feb 2011 08:42 AM PST

Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert has become an international superstar. With the Grammy Awards this weekend and a live CD and DVD on the horizon, we hopped on the phone with the singer to catch up on all things Adam!

Adam Lambert received his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his hit single “Whataya Want From Me.” We wanted to find out if he has pre-Grammy jitters, a glamorous outfit, and who he’ll take with him. “I’m riding solo,” Adam revealed. “It’s one of those things where it’s both fun and work. I feel like it would be rude to bring someone and then have to work. This way I can focus and interact. I think I know what I’m wearing, but I can always change my mind last minute. I’m a fashion schizophrenic!”

Today, Adam alerted his fans that he’ll be releasing a live CD/DVD from his Glam Nation Tour on March 22nd. What was the reason for the decision? The fans! “My fans are so amazing,” Adam said. “I saw so many familiar faces at multiple shows. When I would talk to people at my meet and greets, they would say that they loved everything about the tour-the costumes, musicians, and dancers. We decided it would be a great idea to capture it all for anyone who didn’t get a chance to come see the tour or for people who want a memento. I started reviewing the footage and provided a little input. It’s looking great.”

Season 8′s Scott MacIntyre is performing at Washington DC’s Kennedy Center this Saturday, February 5th at 6pm. We caught up with Idol finalist to find out more about his upcoming week, the future, and his Season 10 thoughts.

“I’m really excited to perform at the beautiful Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage,” Scott told us. “The Kennedy Center puts on a great program, offering free concerts 365 days. This is the 50th anniversary of the presidency, and the show is sponsored by VSA, which supports artists with disabilities.” In fact, Scott won the VSA 2008 International Young Soloists Award.

This actually isn’t Scott’s first time performing at the Kennedy Center. The MacIntyre Family Singers, which consists of Scott, his mom Carole, his brother Todd, and his sister Katelyn, performed there in 2008. Just a few weeks ago, on January 19th, Katelyn won The American Idol Experience at Walt Disney World Resort. Her proud brother Scott shared, “My sister Katelyn won the Idol Experience in Florida. Unfortunately I was traveling and couldn’t be there. She was with me a lot during my Season 8 Idol experience. My mom was in the audience in Florida and said it was amazing how real it felt. Katelyn now has a ticket to the front of the lines for Season 11 auditions.” View a photo of Katelyn’s winning moment.

Tomorrow, Scott will fly to DC. He has a sound check on Saturday and the doors open at 5pm. Scott will perform at 6pm and informed us … read more
